This is our second meeting! I'm excited. We had 7 attend the first meeting! Now we have 17 members, and we are a week away, and only 2 weeks new! We have 6 RSVPs already! This is going to be an excellent 2nd meeting!

We do not follow an exact agenda, we are not overly structured, meetings are free flowing, and it is up to the group what will be discussed, but this is a preliminary idea of what may take place at this meeting.

Rough Draft Agenda, not necessarily in this order:

1) Introductions

2) Discuss E Hallwell's new endeavor to create a shift in ADD, to a strengths focus, a method of recognizing and unwrapping of the gift of genius within all ADDers. Nancy will be bringing copies of the recent announcement of the third paradigm shift in ADD. The first was a Moral paradigm, the Second was a medical paradigm, and now there is a third paradigm which is about the positive, about the genius. I agree with this philosophy even though I do not know all his suppositions. However, he states ADDers are able to look at massive amounts of information and formulate new perspectives, see new things, that others have not seen.

3) Question and Answer with Judy Mauer on removing disorganization, clutter, papers, from our lives. She has a long resume, working with holistic health, social work, program administration, and now has her own Organization company. She has worked with me on my organization needs and has been very effective in helping me overcome years of paper backlogs!! I have asked her to do some Q and A for the group, so the group can learn some techniques.

4) Talk about the group, how the group is doing, any suggestions, any needs.

5) Open Discussion of any topic. We have 2 hours, so there will be plenty of time for discussion of any topics the group wants to discuss.

You want to attend, but you lost your keys, so attend! If you have other stories like this, attend!

You have wanted an ADD ADHD group for a long time, attend!

You want to meet and talk to others with ADD ADHD, Attend!

You have a story about your own life, which may not have been funny at the time, but you can take a look at it now and laugh a little in hindsight, or you want to be able to laugh a little, Attend!

You have been invited to be a guest? Attend!

As a member of the group, attend as often as possible to get the benefit of developing the group, social time, learning, sharing stories, wisdom from the trenches, camaraderie, reversing negative impressions about ADD ADHD, finding positive methods to overcome the little stuff that we deal with, and talk about the big stuff we deal with.

OUR SECOND MEETING
Meetings will be held every other Friday at 7 pm, for 1 1/2 to 2 hrs, with optional social time afterwards if any members want to talk over coffee.

Meetings are not totally scripted. Remember to bring your positive attitude and your favorite ADD ADHD stories and humor. Members will pledge to maintain a safe, supportive, and respectful community environment for all members. In our first meeting we will introduce ourselves to each other, learn about each other's reasons for attending the group, discuss members' visions of a valuable ADD ADHD group. Through the group process we will discover the needs of our members, social aspects of the group, career and school aspects, and many other aspects of the group. We will have open discussions on the topics that matter to the group. We will schedule some topics if the group wants to discuss them.

If anyone can start a discussion about getting lost in general that would be great. We have all gone thru that I bet. Please share your advice. Also if you can offer assistance to directions to Borders pls do. I use GPS on my cell ph for everything and it is very helpful for relieving my anxiety about getting lost and it works.

Wow! We brought together 6 ADD people of following occupations: Hospice Counselor, Elem School Teacher, Audio Visual Mgr in Hospitality Industry, Veterinarian Practice Mgr, Non-Profit Grey Hound Rescue Founder, Small Business Owner. Two thirds or more are college grads, 1/3 are taking college courses, one is graduating with a masters degree soon. Three are single, 2 are married (not to each other), and 1 is in a relationship. Three called/emailed that they could not make it tonight, but said they would be at next mtg. One brought in a duplicate folder for each member, containing information on Edward Hallowell's newest ADD theory to discuss next mtg.Thankyou. One brought snacks - the cookies were good!Thankyou. We had coffee from the cafe too. We compared our ADD notes in many areas of life, some were common to many members, but not all. A great mtg, good discussions, interesting and nice people. Mtg could have been better structured for special topic discussion. An Excellent 2nd mtg!
