So that they too can start to be aware of how ADHD affects us and perhaps some tips on how to control our reactions to it. Through understanding others, we begin to understand ourselves.

Because there is no other like this for adults in Toronto, and because we can share methods that will help us to have a better life with this.

I think it gives oppurtunity to identfy with a way of being that helps to give a feeling of being part of a norm rather then visibly alone and not know why, ( speaking of my own experience)

I think everyone there is coming in with the right attitude, especially given everyone there is a different points of their ADHD path. Very rewarding.

I enjoyed meeting the other members and found it comforting to be with people with the same challenges. A bit rushed but I realize that was because of "room confusion" which I actually found funny - so typical of me, anyway. Is perpetually getting lost an ADHD symptom or is it my learning disability or is it just me??

For the support and help that is available at meetings and knowing that there are quite a few of us in the same boat. We just have to learn to pull together.

I am a firm believer in group support. And I feel that anytime one can be with others in like circumstances be it having cancer, alcohol or other addiction, weight loss or living with ADD/ADHD it can be incredibly empowering and beneficial. Just knowing that you are not alone, that others face/have faced similar challenges and can offer possible solutions can only be good. It enables one to feel 'in control" in a world that often feels 'out of control". Everyone was so warm, kind and welcoming and I cannot say enough good things (believe it or not - :) ) to describe the positive experience that I came away with.

I was skeptical at first, knowing that it was held at CAMH, I though the meeting would be too clinical or structured as opposed to a relaxed atmosphere. I really enjoyed the experience & will continue to attend & I recommend that anyone who is skeptical like I was. attend one meeting & see for yourself:)

  •  I believe the structure should be revisited. People aren't being enough time to talk as the structure is too tight. I would suggest being in small groups until break and then large group after break. I am so interested in everything that everyone has to say but I feel we are missing out on too much because the whip is keeping us on schedule so much that that we don't finish any conversations. I also prefer the large group because I can hear everything everyone says. The small groups are very distracting, its hard to have a conversation when the other small group is so close by and so loud.
